The point is that we wish to move away from conforming genital props and into genitals being fully integrated part of the mesh, making all manner of things easier.
Or at least providing polygons in the right places for doing so third party. If I try to add my own polygons I ruin compatibility, and if I add a conforming prop I make everything I ever do after that 3 times harder.
And, for clothing makers, a covered up genital area introduces a lot of modeling that is simply unnecessary.
You can't make life simple for EVERYone, just for some. So, you pick and choose your battles and move on.
