In part 2 I am going to show why splitting up the model into separate models allows for great flexibility in animation.I start by ensuring the hot point of the lens is in the middle. I then animate the lens (zoom out and twist) with ease.
The mouthpiece needs a little more modelling. I digress into tidying up the model (a good discipline to get into for large scenes).
I choose to duplicate the mouthpiece, give each copy it's own shader, and them move the circular mouth piece in and out. This effectively changes the colour of the mouth (as I've set the shaders to different colours).
I complete the tutorial by animating the thing and showing the final rough cut animation.
