Thanks for the comments, everyone.  I truly appreciate the feedback.

Just a heads-up; the .max version of this object has been approved, and can now be downloaded in Freestuff as well.   This native file format would allow users of 3dsmax 2012 or higher easy access to each individual part of the object, if desired.  All parts have been grouped together in the scene as one object, but not attached, so translation or animation to any unique part of the model can be done without the need to access the sub-object level.

The modifier stack has been collapsed to ensure compatibility.
