You're right and most vendors can't live from it, they do it as an extra. I've got a steady income as well from a part-time job. The money I make from my content is an extra for me. From it I buy new hardware, software and all of the content I do buy myself for Vue and sometimes Poser (if I can trade it). At one point, before the crisis I had the idea of making a living from it, giving up my job and live from my 3D creations. I was getting closer and closer, but never completely made it to that point. Then the crisis set in and now I'm glad I never took the step.

I'm not a top seller, but from what I gather, I'm not doing too bad either, I'm somewhere in the middle. I still sell enough..... to give you an idea of how much it is here's all the fun stuff I got from it this year up to now :-) Vue Studio with 2 extra modules (export and ecopainter). A new computer for rendering (i7 3770, the 4770 series wasn't released at that time). Between $10 and $50 worth of content each month. Some gadgets and other items bought at Ebay, Deal Extreme and so on. I've got some money left, didn't even spent it all. I may not get rich, but it sure pays for some nice stuff I never would have bought otherwise. Besides all that I buy from the content sales, I also give away around 10% of what I make to a charity, each year and I can tell you that's not a few dollars. This is only from my CP sales, what I sell at Rendo comes on top of this, that I spent on other things.

So, if you've got some stuff to sell go for it. Don't expect to get rich, but it may pay some bills. Don't quit your day job if you've got one, but if you model, take a little extra time to get it into a store. You never know what may happen. I started selling for fun, after a few months started contemplating become a vendor full time, but in the end decide to not take the step, but use the money to invest in my expensive hobby. This way my wife is happy, I'm not using household money at all.

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....
