Well a way of getting around all the colour maps is to assign appropriate Lux shaders instead I suppose. Like use Lux wood instead of a picture of wood for instance.
I didn't know there was a limit, never thought about it :) Does Poser have a limit to how many texture maps you can assign, too?
And yes, i'm on Windows. Your picture looks like the cornea is borked, as if it's not transparent. But i've rendered Oriana for Dawn in Reality without problems and I don't think the Mac and Windows version is that much different. Not sure though, but they should naturally both be able to handle something like corneas :)
