GoZ in Poser Pro 2012 should work fine. Make sure you don't move any part of the figure or item in Poser unitl after you're done with your GoZ tweaks and have hit the GoZ button to return to Poser.  Without screen shots to illustrate your issues, that's the only thing I can think of that may be an issue for you.
