Quote - The dearth of new products for Poser is suggestive of a program to ruin Poser for the Poserites, except that the blowback potential on DAZ3D may be either destructive or instructive.
Dearth of new products for Poser? Where? Unless I'm mistaken, the only place that hasn't put out much if any new Poser content is DAZ3D, because they're focusing on D|S and Genesis.
All the other Poser/Daz Studio content sites seem to be producing quite a bit of Poser content, at least as much as was produced before Genesis.
Daz Studio is no more a "Poser killer" than the Macintosh OS is a "Windows killer."
As for a "program to ruin Poser," Daz Studio isn't it, and won't be unless they acquire the rights to Poser from Smith Micro. And I don't see that happening any time soon, if ever.
For the thread title: The future of Poser without DAZ models is in the hands of others who decide to make models. Hivewire3d and others have already taken the first steps, but people tend to be resistant to change, and so adoption of a non-Vicky figure will be slow. Particularly in light of the fact that V4 is still available, and still works just fine in Poser.
