The price of Carrara Pro, in a blow-out sales, shouldn't be more than $49.- Here are the justifications:
1. Cheetah3D (link) is priced at $99.- and occasionaly at $69.- At this price it has better features than Carrara. If you look a their News page, you will see that every new release, major or minor, came with some significant new features or enhancements, unlike Carrara which is starting to look like a dusty relic.
2. Realsoft (link), which, quite like Carrara, is a bit of a dying product because it had no major releases since 2010, is a feature packed 3D app, almost at the same level as 3DS Max. Yet it is currently priced at 150 euros, for a competitive upgrade.
When I look at these 2 apps and all the features they offer for their low prices, I don't think Carrara Pro is worth more than $49.-
