Real drummers sneer at programmed drums, of course. They always have. But a friend and I find EZ Drummer very useful when we want to get the basics of a track down and no drummer is available. Playing to a realistic - sounding pattern, even if it's the same throughout the song, feels more natural and easier than a click track or metronome. Once a real drummer hears the result, he or she will more or less insist on replacing it. Win - win situation. :)
