Are you using preset material sets for your figures?

 

Try selecting Genesis -

Go to your Content Library tab

Then go to DAZ STUDIO/MY LIBRARY/PEOPLE/GENESIS/MATERIALS

There is a selection here of sample preset materials for Genesis.

There also located in the Smart Content - Genesis Starter Essentials

 

If you have V5 then there are also preset mats applied for her.
