I'm adapt a cheongsam Dress I've made for Miki 4 and Anastsia to fit Roxie. The other two dresses are short and above the knee, but I made two versions for Roxie. One long and one short because i'm just not sure how the extra length will make the dress react. So which do you prefer? Although I suppose it doesn't matter since at this point I'll probably just include both.

and the long version...

They are both pretty.  I haven't yet played with Roxie much; she's got nice legs... 😄

I was only going to make the one dress, then use the material room to make the lower half invisble if needed, so people can ma a shorter dress. But I'm convince there's still interaction between the lower half of the dress with Roxie's legs and that causes the dress to drape differently than if that invisble half weren't there at all. Invisible doesn't mean intangible.

I think you should include both versions, the dress is lovely. I thin you are right about invisible areas in the cloth room - I believe it would affect the draping.

just for your information, in http://www.book.artbeeweb.nl/?p=604 I discussed how to handle large transparent areas in Cloth Room, like large holes or like here, an invisible lower half of a dress. It's just a matter of setting the cloth parameters properly.

Feel free to copy or to make a reference.

Usually I'm wrong. But to be effective and efficient, I don't need to be correct or accurate.

visit www.aRtBeeWeb.nl (works) or Missing Manuals (tutorials & reviews) - both need an update though

I'm still learning with the Cloth Room and since i

vestarted making clothes for the Poser figures, I've actually had to educate myself a little more on how cloth behaves. Which is why i asked about a chart for cloth properties for the Cloth room. I downloaded PhilC's clothroom presets, but when I tried to add them, I guess I did something wrong since as far as I could see, none of the settins changed.

Anyway, I manually lowered the fold resistance on this dress to 1 instead of five and that worked fine for me. Also the shoes with this model turned out very well.  I'm going to releses them with the dress as well, but I'm also considering releasing them on their own.

I'm impressed.  They all look good and poor Roxie needs all the clothes she can get.  I rarely use anything other than dynamic clothing these days.

Well, I'm committed to making as many clothes as I can for Roxie and the other Poser figures.

For the longer dress try these and see if it helps:-

Fold Resistance: 2.00

Shear Resistance: 20.00

Stretch Resistance: 20.00

Stretch Draping: 0.0050

I don't know how many frames you are using, but it sometimes helps to run a longer sim than the usual 30 frames.

All the best.
