What strikes me about all 4 images is how similar the color/tex of the figures and backgrounds are. Easy to lose the fig in all that grey. I'd vote for color in the background, which would bring the silver/grey figure way into the foreground, and give the image a lot more contrast and depth. Just my .02 worth.
