no you aren't "sorry to say"... Speaking of scripts, you will need the MaterialMods>changeGamma script to set up most materias' transparency and bump maps to look good in renders using Gamma Correction, which set at 2.2 by default.  To use the script, use the value of 1.0, select "All props and Figures" and then "All of the Above" which will uncorrect the appropriate maps....
