See if you get the same issues when you don't do anything else while Poser is rendering.
The reason I say this is not to be a solution but to have an idea if this is caused by using other programs while rendering or if this is something else.
I have had similar experiences where Poser appears to freeze for a bit an at the top of it a message saying "not responding" pops up. When I see that message come up then I stop doing what I was doing for bit so that the computer can sort itself out. It's usually like a 5 or 10 second pause and I can only assume that what I was doing at the time of rendering cause a conflict somewhere. It doesn't happen often but when it does I just take a small break. However I don't get this issue when I tell Poser to render in the background.
I was thinking that this may be the case with what is happening with you, but you really won't know unless you let Poser render without doing anything else on the computer. If it still hangs when you don't do anything then you can be 90% sure that it's not because you were using another software.
OK I know what you are refering to and I get that from time to time as well. It is not that, this actually causes poser and every other program running at the time to lock up and starts to flash on the screen every 10 to 15 seconds and causes my CPU to max out locking up my whole system.
