Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
The path to a file can get confusing quickly, an example:
To Alyson's casual shoes: /Users/Shared/Poser Debut Content/Runtime/Textures/Poser 8/Alyson/AlysonCasual/AlysonCasualShoes.jpg
I've noticed that many 'items' are placed in a Vendor-named sub-directory, does Poser automatically go into sub-directories when looking for something? If I'm in 'Props' everything that appears in the pane has been found, because it wouldn't be there otherwise. If it doesn't work, that's another matter.
I've noticed somethings like this: /Users/Shared/Poser Debut Content/Runtime/Textures/Poser 8/Alyson/Alyson/AlysonHead.png. That makes me wonder why .../Alyson/Alyson/... is it a mistake?
It's weird but just putting my thoughts down here is helping me understand the way Poser works, at least as far as the directory tree...

They must be installed in the same directory that Victoria 4 is installed to. However, after installing the morphs, you need to initialize V4, which is done by running the batch files in runtime/libraries/!DAZ

"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."I have done that WandW though I'm not sure what happened. I'm running on a Mac so things are not the same.
That's a good idea hborre, I wish I had thought of it earlier.
I got Poser Debut because I could buy it at a reasonable price, and see if I could get along with it. I am now tempted now to buy Poser 10 (I can't afford Pro, too expensive for my budget).
I had it installed in DAZ3D (using DAZ's DIM) and copied the files from there to Poser. I'd like to get it in a self-installer rather than using DIM but so far I haven't found it. Also I am on a Mac...

The .command files in that directory are for OS X.
I would simply add the Studio Content folder to the Poser Library and you should be good. The Add Library Button is the folder with the '+' above the list in the Library; click it and and browse to the Studio Content folder...

Hey, I saw a thread here, but I would like to expand it a little.
I am a new Poser user, I just got a copy of Poser Debut, which is Poser 8, and I'm trying to install Victoria 4.2 from Daz3d. I've got it working, sorta...
Can someone post the directory tree structure for Victoria (or others) on Poser? I'd like to know where Vickie morphs go, clothes, etc...
Thanks...
