I'm not using an environment sphere. I'm setting the scene for rendering it from under the alcove, so the sun light may be more hard.

Making test following your setting too.  

Poser Pro 2014 SR 1 on Windows 7 64 bit
 I use IDL, Gamma Correction and EZSkin for all final renders.
