Subject: sci fi city so so answer

just got the bums rush from smith micro/content paradise -the advertised product said 16 sci fi buildings in max and obj format suitable for poser and vue etc but i got the download and the obj is only one ground plane with the structures on it, not in a very usable layout and not separate buildings. I asked them to investigate why the download was not what seemed to be advertised but only got a "fill out the refund form like we told you to" or #$%^ off attitude so i understand the rock and a hard place vendors and buyers are in sometimes-you cant please all of the people all of the time, but they could have answered in a better tone than just saying no investigation needed just fill out the form!!!!

What exactly were you looking for?

sometimes the buildings can be set for hidden or visible.  I dont know the set you mentioned.

Team-dystopia had some free city blocks but they are not individual buildings.

I would be annoyed at an advertised 16 buildings in obj format and finding one obj.  If you cant use them do the return thing. Can you leave a comment on the product ?

They should ask the vendor why the package was not what the advertised images showed and asked them to offer them as separate models or to explain to me how to separate them-I cant see them as grouped-just one chunk.I said I'd ask for a refund if there was no solution or explanation to this problem.

in poser, use group editor to spawn props.  may produce separate objs.

.obj and .max are two modelling formats.  Wavefront object , .obj, is mostly a universal model format whereas .max is a format specific to 3DMax.  If you don't know how to use a modelling program than don't buy models in these formats.  That is probably the same position the vendor of these models have, thus the reply you got from them.
