Windows 8.1 does have a start button, but all it does is bring up the start screen.   

 

No American accent yet.  I do say some words the American way since it's easier than repeating myself seven times.   But for the most part it's still English.   The ladies like it and kids are amused by it.  Most think I went to school with Harry Potter.

Quote - I'm amazed on that one  I'm usually right in predicting Microsoft's manipulative moves and I'd have thought that by now there would be an official update to add the Start button back if you wanted it.  I expected they'd do it with the first Service Pack or whatever, but obviously not.
