If you make a new object file/clothing, I suppose you build that clothing over the existing figure in a 3D app like Wings or Blender? So it should "fit" the figure pretty good.

In Poser
load your figure (V4, Roxie, what ever) and zero
Load your new object file => File => Import wavefront object file

Your new clothing object should load exactly over your figure you build it for.

Goto the fitting room.
Set up a new fit session.

Load your clothing object file (tht is loaded as a prop untill now)
Load your figure to conform it to

As you build the clothing for the figure it should"fit" and no fitting should be required.

You can go imediately to => Create figure.

Select the bones to transfer
Select autogroup if you build the new clothing without groups.
Select Zero, and save under a new name.

Go back to the Pose room

Delete the original object file.
Now with the new clothing figure selected, click "Conform to" and select the figure to conform it to. (V4, Roxie, what ever)

Now the clothing follows all bending and twisting of the figure.
