Misty, that's actually a very fair price for what you are getting.  Consider this is Vray, not some experimental, unproven renderer.  Vray has solidified its place over the years as the #1 professional production raytrace render engine.  It's being used to create some of the world's most stunning VFX, by the world's most prolific CG studios.  I think more high-end studios are using Vray now than any other render engine, especially for the most difficult, demanding photoreal shots for compositing to film.  The arch/viz industry depends on it almost exclusively for the most realistic interior design and architectural renders.

$500 is a steal for this technology.
