Quote - I need Civil war Uniforms for M4, both North and South for a cover assignment.

I found one southen SGT and one Union Captian, (but they were for M3) at Poser world.

Daz has some Civil Wars uniforms for Gensis, but I have PoserPro2014 for the PC.

Can anyone please help?

I always thought the US Civil WAr was a popular subject. I expected more items/uniforms to be available.

Semi-naked women didn't fight in it, soooo.... not so popular after all.

If you went the Poserworld route, I believe you could use the fitting room in Poser Pro 2014 to fit them to M4. My advice is to download some freebies for M3 and give it a try to see how it works.

Genesis will work in Poser, though it may slow down the UI if you dress multiple figures in a single scene -- in which case you would probably have to do multiple renders and composite them in postwork.

It can also be a bit of a pain to install DSON. But there are numerous threads in the forums here on the subject. If you search for "DSON" in the forum search page, I think you'll find them. Also the people at Daz (and here) are very helpful when it comes to questions about installing DSON.

These particular outfits do not come with Poser Companion Files (which you need to use them in Poser). But you can make those either by installing Daz Studio and doing it in that software, or using D3D's free script that "converts" the files to a usable form in Poser. You can find it here:

However, there is one caveat: Genesis clothing, especially stuff you "convert" yourself, doesn't necessarily work with absolute perfection. You may find anything with straps or buckles needs a touch of work with the morph brush to get it fitting right. The morph brush is also a great way to deal with pokethru.

Edit: Just reading another thread. Apparently, clothing that does not come with Poser Companion Files are not guaranteed to work, and may not work at all in Poser. So... you can try to ask the vendor if their product is likely to work. (They may not even know, however). Or buy the product, try to make it work, and if it doesn't, get a refund.
