It sounds like we have similar goals in 3d. 
i use DS4 and PP12 equally these days. and to make it more confusing Carrara8.5.
depending on what the scene is about.
I have to tell ya the Cloth Room and Dyn Hair are not easy, high level of effort and often disappoints.
