Well, to be fair, not all vendors are using a version of Poser that even has GC, so they can't update (though the shiny new upgrade price of Poser might persuade some of them to get in the game -- one hopes). Others have so many products that it would take them a year to update all the shaders, and I'm guessing that they're just trying to avoid getting a barrage of emails from panicky customers telling them their stuff looks horrible.

But in an ideal world, true, they would not be giving that advice. :) And hopefully it goes the way of the Dodo soon. Edit: Because you might as well return your Poser 10 or PP 2014 and get a $10 version of Poser 7 on Amazon than follow that advice. ;)
