Oh, as a philosophical strategy -rather than a "feature"- I would prefer if SM would refine and perfect the existing dolls, rather than using the alotted content man-hours to start new dolls from scratch.  If there is going to be an absence of compatible third party dolls, then SM would do well to develop a good set of dolls on their own.

     Better to have one set of good dolls than to have several half-finished doll sets.
