No idea when it was changed. It is not multiple runtimes or location of the runtimes. I have a lot of them spread all over local disks and network locations

It could be in one of the service releases. I just checked on my second machine where ai have a version of Poser dated nov 11 where it also works.

It has been that way for quite a while since I am now used to do a browse, select the active texture with right click and modify it with Photoshop. Then just cancel and reload textures. Never any locating the the right folder/texture

If you still have the full installer and updates. Just try the latest service release. If it causes any problems, just re-install the master release and apply the update you had before. I have done that lots of times during the beta test period

I have updated Poser 2014 with each update and, for me it has always worked as described.  Clicking browse on the image map in the material room takes me straight to the folder containing that image.  I have multiple runtimes on my E drive while the Poser program is on the C drive.

I often play with image maps in Paint Shop Pro and then point the material to the modified map, which I leave in original folder, so it is useful that works this way.  I don't know why it would default back to the desktop but I can see how annoying that must be.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
