Well, next game they don't have the excreble 360 specs to limit the game with. -Maybe- we'll start seeing provinces somewhere close to their actual mapped size. Skyrim is better behaved than the other two X centric offerings, but what I'm really waiting for the the XL engine release. The guy who's been coding it has reverse engineered the gameplay aspects of Daggerfall, with modern render capabilities. And he planned the architecture for modding (one project underway is creating decent 3D figures to replace the NPC sprites). At least two people are working on the height maps for the entire continent of Tamriel. I know there are at least 3 projects underway to recreate the same with Skyrim's game engine, but it is more likely to happen with Daggerfall's simpler terrain and codes structure (oh, and the terrain algorithm generates nice, tall, rolling hills, not rough polygon lumps).
