1. Octane supports network rendering now (limit: 18) so your GPU's don't need to be all in one box and

2. you can add PCI extenders (=special board+power+cards) to your existing rig. Some of those can hold up to 4 cards each. And

3. Octane can use normal ram instead of videoram as well to support the big-texture scenes, and

4. I might be wrong but Octane might be able to run in CPU as well, nowadays.

so, keep an eye on them.
