Quote - why is only Poser Pro 2014 doing this? Poser 7 didn't?

only Poser Pro 2014? It's not only Poser pro 2014.

Poser Debut, Poser 8, Poser 9, Poser 10, Poser Pro 2010, Poser Pro 2012, and Poser Pro 2014 all do this.

Why did you think that the world stopped at Poser 7 and started again at 2014?

We've all been talking about these features for years.

As for why Poser 7 didn't, it's because Microsoft forced the issue with Windows Vista and UAC. Suddenly it became difficult to put content in your application folders. The world is full of evil people, and they make evil content. Putting those things in your protected application area is bad. It lets them do evil things.

People who are not evil (such as yourself) have trouble understanding the things that evil people do. Engineers have to come up with solutions to stop the evil people. Unfortunately this annoys and mystifies the good people like yourself, who cannot imagine why such things are necessary and see them as bogus complications made up by idiots.

I assure you, the developers are not idiots, and they didn't want to do this.

You are not the first who demanded an explanation, and you won't be the last.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
