Quote - just having a blast - now I can't open several files that I created in poser in May - every time I try poser crashes.  It looks like it's "smartskinbaserlease?  Why did this run before the update but not now... and how do I fix it?  anybody?

Have you tried a system restore back to a point before the update was installed? If the problem showed up after the update, the update may be the issue.
