Am looking to create the glossy amazing lips that Echo has..

Any idea where to begin? I'm pretty new still so. :(

Go to lips in the surface tab and play with the glossy setting and the spectral one.

Neither seem to be doing anything. :/

No matter what I do it just seems to be this "Matte" - I'm using LuxRender mind you.

How are you getting the content into LuxRender - Reality, Luxus or manual import from OBJ or the like?

Medzinatar ( ) posted Mon, 20 October 2014 at 10:21 AM

First of all, make sure your material settings are not being overridden by one of the ACSEL shaders.
If you have the default ACSEL for Genesis installed, what you do in surface tab won't have any effect on render.

The shader for Echo uses a light purplish blue for the specular color, so that should be starting point for Lux material.

Hrm I see, i'll start tweaking and the like.

I'm using Reality.

I hadn't used Echo in Lux before (just 3Delight), so thought I would check it out. Keep in mind that the base texture plays an important role, in some cases more than any tweaks you might do on the shader.

I do not know your skill level, so is hard to making suggestion. Luxus and Reality handle material different and I don't know what you are using.

You should see tutorial on how Luxrender materials work with whatever exporter you are using.

Luxrender is a physically correct system, so lighting and color of surrounding objects influence as in real world.

To gain intuition of scene you must do many mistaken ones to see effect of changes.

I do this one, changing hair color and face morph but keeping most skin texture and shaders.
I think change can be called significant.
