Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
I have Game Dev on Win 7 ultimate and have not seen the problem. Your Screen save image shows Poser running the 32bit version. Do you have the same problem with the 64bit.
Where are your runtimes located? Is Poser the only one having problems if not you may have a disk beginning to fail.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
RHasletine is like awesome... Dewd walks in james bond style with one line of text and ShaBam!!! problem solved... Fixes his tie and collar, pulls down his sleeves from his sports jacket and walks out the room...
and yes... drives a jaguar.
There are 3 kinds of people in the
world. Those that can count, and those that can't..
I believe I am correct in saying that the only time you get two icons is if you have the external binary morphs ticked. With external binary morphs un-ticked you get one icon. Not sure why Windows will not let you delete unless it is protected.
Despite the fact that many have no problems with the latest versions of Poser I have not used external binary morphs since Poser 7 as I had the problem you have seen here.

You could try reloading each scene that has the dual files and then resaving it. Time consuming, indeed. But since I believe that secondary file contains the morph information, if you just delete it, won't you lose the data permanently? Unless you've saved it in a new scene while having "Use external binary morphs" check off?
PoserPro 2014, PS CS5.5 Ext, Nikon D300. Win 8, i7-4770 @ 3.4 GHz, AMD Radeon 8570, 12 GB RAM.
the files with grey Icons are .PMD files (external Binaries) are these the ones you cannot delete?
if so, have you tried deleting them while poser is closed?
were they created under another username?
as for the blocking of the install, that looks like Firefox is blocking it(that can be changed in your settings), navigate to the containing folder and try launching the installation from there.
