well you had me confused and I thought you wanted to use blender 2.4x and had probs with a python addon

now your loading 2.6x .... and still got the error ??

is no need to install blender OR python !! just grab the zip unpack and run blender.exe

blender 2.5 plus probably wont run a 2.4x addon, I "think" blender 2.4x will have its own python in zip (unbrokenfighter will tell me if I'm wrong) so grab the zip of that version and try then

I don't "do" games but most will import a .obj just a lot more messing about without a "exporter/importer" addon

Hi Heddheld No 2.49 does not come with python unless you are getting a custom build one with the python libraries packed inside the zip. I did replicate the same error KiteMaster was getting and installed python 2.66 and the error went away. Add-ons made for Blender versions prior to 2.50 will not work in the current versions of Blender. I uninstalled Blender 2.49 installed python version 2.66 and reinstalled Blender 2.49b and the error no longer came up. You really do not need to actually install python for this version of Blender unless you have a specific add-on that requires the python libraries. I run 2.49b only for some backward compatibility on projects that I made and used with in Second Life (whole other story lol)
