Thought I'd post this here. It's characters for a commercial. It was done by Bad Clay Studio. I had nothing to do with it but it felt relevant to the discussion at hand.

Caisson is right that there's no one right way to do it and the end use is often the deciding factor. The problem with Poser content creation is that there is no one end use for what we make. That's why I think offering both styles of UV layout is the best way to go for Poser content. At least until we get some kind of UV swapping method. Anyway, thought I'd post this to show that I'm not crazy and people do actually use this multimap method too. :D
