Well, the gibberish will just be that you saved the file compressed then - that is the default option. You can turn compression off when saving, or use the Batch Convert pane in DS to uncompress, or you can use an archive tool to uncompress - 7Zip works for me. As I said, paths should be incomplete - giving only the location inside the content directory, just as Poser does (:Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:blMilWomV4.obj or whatever) and for the same reason - portability. So the question is why does Carrara fail when DS doesn't, and what changes when you resave?
