Color maps have to be set at GC 2.2
Transmaps are grey scale and have to be set at GC 1.000

Never had a mix of one "polluting" the other.

Poser 8 doesn't have render Gamma Correction. Do you have the latest SR installed?  It puts Poser 8 to version 8.0.3.11793...
