So it turns out that this is a known and old bug.

I was just reading through the documents that came with a Netherworks script I picked up some time ago. It mentions this precise issue, and the utility (Creator's Toybox) has a function for setting unique obj names to fix it. Hah. Netherworks solves problems before I even know I have them! What a guy!

(The same script has also been updated to make some changes to DSON imported figures which converts them to native figures. Works like a dream. While Genesis 2 figures can be exported from DS with a Gen4 UV -- if you have the product needed to give them that UV --, the material names are different, so MC6's and MATposes don't work. But the materials do. I also note that the HD morphs do work -- if you change the subdivision type and then increase it to 2 or 3 for final render. Sweet! It was a really nice holiday surprise for me. :)) Happy January 2!
