Adding my 2 cents, there have been reports of Genesis not working correctly after extraction from compressed files as described by moriador.  I cannot confirm nor verify this, but I, personally. have not had any problems as yet.  The recommended method is to use DAZ Install Manager (DIM) to place your figures and content into their intended location; the software installs folders contained within the pesky Content folder.  I will not get into setting up preferences with DIM, it will only complicate the workflow.
