I just perchased Poser 10 here, all I got was a "Download Manager" every time I use it it states that it cannot find Poser. What the heck? I thought I purchased Poser 10 and NOT the upgrade! What is going on here?

     Run the DLM, inserting your serial number.  Click the installers tab (not the updates tab).  Do you see anything there?

     It may show only a newer version of the DLM - if so, download and install it, then run the updated DLM.

     If the DLM won't retrieve anything, and you only see a "can't find Poser" message, post a screenshot of the DLM after you ran it.

Waiting for my copy to arrive by mail. I'll keep an eye here to see what else might go wrong.

Your boxed copy likely won't be the current Service Release version; the program and content updates can be gotten here...

So, ordering direct from Smith Micro only gets me an out of date copy? Not what it says on their website. If this is the way it is, all hell will break loose in their email for false advertising. They may think that nothing will come of ripping off a retired teacher, but just wait...

If they are printing the discs on demand, it could be the current version...

@Cedarwolf: I you are interested in keeping service release current with your boxed version, I would suggest downloading the Smith Micro Download Manager before installing Poser 10.  There is a release delay between DLed and boxed versions, downloads available much earlier.  Wait until you receive your software in the mail, navigate to the update SM webpages and download the Download Manager.  Do not install yet because the Manager needs a valid serial number.  Install Poser, then afterwards install the SMDM.  If you install Poser first, upon visiting the update webpages you will no longer have access to the download button for the Download Manager.
