DSON will run even if you do not use a G2m/f. It is a script and will run once Poser loads. This may cause Poser slowdowns.
Genesis figures hold every character morph you have for it into the figure base in Poser. This can make a figure way more memory and processor intensive than a fully loaded V4 with all her morph packages.
I have a 5 year old piece of crap PC with 15 gigs of RAM.and I can use the figure. It is slow and I spend a lot of time waiting for Poser to return control of the interface to me after every simple manipulation of the figure. Even moving an arm up down.
Does it work? Yes. Do I recommend it? Not so much. I have the figure only to troubleshoot Dynamic cloth and hair. I wouldn't purchase clothing and such for the figure as even that requires DSON. More slowdown.
If you need to use the G1 or G2m/f figures I recommend you use Studio. The system is designed for Studio and works best there.
