Subject: Not compatable with DS

kaotkbliss ( ) posted Tue, 03 February 2015 at 9:40 AM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 2:30 AM

I'm about to make my first purchase here but some of the items in my cart are poser only (Not DS compatible)

What would make clothing not compatible and would I be able to run it through the transfer utility to make it work in daz?

You can either ask the vendor, or drop the items here, and perhaps some of us have experience with them in DS.

Virtually all products for Poser can be used in DS, the only problem is related to the materials, which may not be compatible, you will then have to use DS shaders to replace the materials. But as 3doutlaw said, if you tell us what the product is, maybe someone may have already used it in DS.

Um, dynamic clothing is definitely NOT compatible with DS. Please check to make sure the clothing is not dynamic. If it's not, the materials may not be compatible. It'll still probably work in DS, but it won't look the same.

Oh, I better go check them all then. I hadn't even noticed the dynamic part :O

So I couldn't even import it in as a prop or import to hexagon to get into daz as a prop? (at which point I could then convert the prop to figure and do a bone transfer to make it move with the figure)

Maybe you could if you wanted to pay to go to all that trouble.

Ok, thank you for your help. I'll have to think on this a bit. I've got some experience editing and converting a few 3ds max characters for use in Daz (sometimes almost having to completely rework an outfit)

That link above is MAT files, and like they said, shaders/mats often dont work the same.  That one in particular says:  †Sorry, this pack is not DS compatible.†

I saw the Not compatible with DS at the top and I was confused how a poser object couldn't be used in DS, I didn't realize this was just the MAT files. Sometimes the required product is easy to overlook depending on how it's displayed :(

It seems I need to go through my wishlist and find the actual objects for the texture packs I may have accidently added instead :) thank you
