The ones that threaten the police are the registration scammers, I ask them if they want the local number to the station.  Once you paid Microsoft, registration never expires, even if you're running 3.1, it's still in effect. 

But for every person on the web that's even partially savvy, there are probably ten that aren't, an they prey on that.  I'm not good at keeping them on the phone, maybe ten minutes before they finally decide I'm messing with their minds.  Then they call me just about every name they know, to which, "Sprechen zie deutsch?"  (My spelling is probably as bad as my German.)  Oh, yes!  My name sometimes is Anton aus Tirol.  (My apologies to D J Otzi.)
