When using only indirect light, there will be no gloss from the specular node family (Blinn, ks_microfacet, Specular, Glossy, Anisotropic, etc.) because they are all cheats that rely on the other cheat - light sources.
Realistic specularity comes from reflections of the environment, particularly in this case. I have written about this before, but before you trouble yourself to read lots of math, SnarlyGribbly already did it. He read my thread about this and implemented it in EZSkin.
The feature is on the "Skin" tab, after the Main options tab. You want to turn on "Use rough surface fresnel" and "Modulate specular softness".
The Fresnel configuration section and the Reflection section can be used to adjust the effect.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
