It's built into the DS & the viewport. All you have to do is switch to the Iray render engine in order to use it. Here you can see it starts rendering the preview if Iray is selected. You still have to actually click render, but this shows a progression view in the viewport the longer you leave it. You can also switch to aux view where it will preview the scene in Iray if that is the render engine selected.
