I am quite curious what people think are the issues with the forums. I am not noticing much difference and I have been coming here daily for quite a few years.
As I have already stated some of the difference is, at lease, down to the browser you use. Very often I used to give vendor credits when I uploaded to the gallery but it stopped working and, if you are user IE it still does not work today. It was only when I mentioned it on the forum that Bagginsbill replied it was fine for him and he was using Goggle Chrome. Sure enough it works in Chrome so I have to remember to use that when I up load. Other issues were the bad use of colours so that it the forum was hard to read, not helped by the fact that there were large spaces in each of the pages. The page numbering system has an issue with long threads. It may be fixed now but doing a cut and paste in the forum meant you lost all your previous typing. Avatars when from square to round, minor point but some of the avatars did not work well. Other changes like you had to remember to tick if you want to be notified if someone replies. Response are easily lost in the quotes if you are not careful and the wording in signatures appeared to be part of every response. There was difficulty posting images in responses as well.
Now remember all this just happened over a few weekends without any warning as far as I can see. RDNA upgraded their forum but the shut it and told everyone that it was going to be shut. It re-opened and, short of a few niggles that were quickly fixed, it works well. You can now add a quick thank you at the click of a mouse. Advanced response makes the distinction between quote and response very clear and it gives quick access to emoticons. It appears to be 5 - 10 years in advance of this forum and now people are leaving, going in to lurk mode or only visiting on rare occasions.
I am not against Daz or Genesis and I do not think that they should be banned from the Poser forum but, it has become almost impossible to have a question in the Poser forum without it finishing up with the same Gensis/Daz argument. Now to a large degree that is not Rendo's fault and other forums have the same problem, but the end result for me was that I had little interest in well over half of the threads in the Poser forum with the result I came here less. I suspect that may be due to the contributors I was interested in leaving and thus the anti Poser crowd became a bigger percentage of the people active in the forum.
I am not sure of the other forums here but the Poser one appears to be a shadow of what it once was and that is the biggest change for me.
I apologise for being so negative as I normally try hard not to be but, you did ask.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
