OK. PM the staff as they are the ones that know absolutely. Isn't Basic sort of staff anyway so he could just email them rather than posting here?

So only the person asking gets to know the official answer ? great idea Einstein, let all the people wanting to know the answer flood the staff wih emails when one single forum post would work to alert the community.

It's only a valuable question if everyone is deciding to leave. I don't think that's the case here. And as he was former staff, he should already have the contacts to ask this question directly to them.And the naming calling in this post is precisely why I posted what I did. This is not ok communication so don't use it.

a lot of people are leaving / have left, so that makes your statement invalid does it not? your choice of communication, IE email is not a good idea, if you assume everyone wants to leave, (except the 4 consistent posters), would they not all wonder the same thing? So everyone emails the staff, and we end up with DOS type effect., where nobody can reach the site because hey, emails are taking up the bandwidth.Why should it be asked privately anyway?
