I am on Chrome. The white text was copied from the chrome URL bar, not a format-generating text editor.

However, as I said, the sequence was probably due to accidentally using the image insert dialog instead of the link insert dialog.

Let me try it again - we'll see if it happens.

Nope - I cannot reproduce.

But as I said, the theories given about why it happened to me are wrong.

I copied from the URL bar of an open page in chrome.

I pasted using the link insertion dialog.

At no time did I PASTE THE URL MYSELF - understand?
