This is what I received back guys.

"We are only doing a basic full-text search. Which means that it only searches for words over three characters. It also does not take into account the ‘?’. That why ‘Goldfish’ & ‘Carp’.

To fix we would have to move to cloudsearch."

So I am going to give it my best to get them to push it to the cloud search.
