Poser Pro Game Dev was intended for use in conjunction with gaming engines (Unity, Cry, Unreal).  It requires periodic verification -which should happen automatically, if your machine is web connected- in the same way that the gaming engine license does.  So, every couple of months, your Unity license will phone home to verify, and so will Poser Pro Game Dev.

Similarly, the content eula of Poser Pro Game Dev is different;  it allows for use of the 4.75 GB of included content in games.  Some content creators -myself included- match this eula, allowing for use of their stuff in games via Poser Pro Game Dev.  I've also begun making secondary low-poly versions for my models to better suit game engine use.  For traditional Poser rendering, you can use the low poly models for background items, and use the higher poly version for close ups.

Poser Pro 2014 and Poser 10 do not use the gaming engine type of license verification;  activate once and you're done.

You can periodically -and yes, that would also be continual and periodic- get a downloaded verification on whatever machine is web connected and transfer that via flash drive to the workstation.  I would think it simpler to leave that Cat cable in place, and just plug it in once every two-three months.  That would also enable you to get Windows updates and security software updates.

Poser 12, in feet.
