Time you Americans took issue with your liberty-taking government and actually did something about it then, isn't it.
Ancient paintings on church ceilings illegal, whatever next, have they ordered a whitewash over it yet?I'm surprised some govermental clown hasn't ordered excavation of the skeleton of the painter, and charged it with obscenity.
'Mr Skeleton, it is my duty to inform you on behalf of the US that you've been charged with painting naked cherubs on that there church ceiling. You have the right to remain silent and anything you say will be used to convict you. Please strip of all mummifications and place your maggots in the diposal chute.'
I didn't state they were illegal. In fact they are not. I live less than 15 minutes drive from one of the oldest Basillica's in the US. It has hundreds of paintings (including little naked cherubs and a Renaissance type painting of the Madonna holding a naked Christ child in her lap). No one whitewashed over anything. In fact, they just spent close to 10 million dollars restoring them.
