For whatever it's worth, I've got about 80 grand in student loan debt (and rising as we speak). I suppose I was lucky in that I seemed to be good at being awarded grants and scholarships, otherwise the amount would be more. When you reach that level of debt, a few thousand more or less doesn't make much of an impact.
